November deadline for the second round of funding from Regional Food Fund.

Applications are being accepted for grants of up to £5,000 as part of an initiative to help drive collaborative projects that celebrate and promote locally sourced and produced food and drink in Scotland.

£65,000 has already been awarded to 15 projects across Scotland, providing vital funding when these initiatives need it most.

The fund is being delivered by Connect Local, the Scottish Government’s local food and drink advisory service. As well as a £5,000 grant, applicants also have access to free support and advice from the team of food and drink experts.

Ceri Ritchie, Connect Local Project Manager and Sector Manager for Food and Drink at SAC Consulting, commented:

“The Regional Food Fund allows for support to regional groups and networks, including farm retail and local food events, where traditionally funding can be difficult to find.

“To meet the criteria, the projects must be collaborative, provide a real benefit to local producers and their communities over the long-term and also must align with the industry’s Ambition 2030 and Food Tourism strategies.

“Those interested in applying can visit the Connect Local website for eligibility guidance notes and panel hints and tips to assist with their application.”

The application deadline for the second round of funding is 23:59 on Thursday 1 November.
